General Practice Law
A General Practice Law Firm can advise clients or direct their actions on more than just one area of the law. Without such advice, as a former Criminal Prosecutor, I have witnessed a personal injury plaintiff or family law defendant quickly become a criminal defendant without the proper advice and direction. Imagine that person's surprise as they go from the anticipation of a favorable settlement or resolution to being booked into the County Jail.
Mr. Bauer holds a Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law, with vast experience in both written litigation and oral argument and over 200 jury trials under his belt. This experience translates to any area of the law whether practiced before a trial judge, a jury, an administrative law judge, a magistrate in family court or a hearing officer in traffic court.
The Law of the Land
The law in Florida has been handed down from generation to generation and actually derives from British Common Law. For the most part, it keeps us safe, provides fair notice to our citizens and is to be applied to all of us equally.
When someone is placed in a position to personally deal with the law, in a court of law, there are numerous ways this same law can be used to protect that person's many rights. In this, the mysteries of the law and, certainly, its sometimes inequitable application can be used to either help that person or greatly harm them.
Our State strives to give "equal justice under the law." However, a person coming into court without an experienced attorney by their side, can make this phrase an unreachable ideal merely printed on the page of a book or painted on a courthouse wall. As the phrase goes, "a fool has himself for a client," yet a person would be no less foolish to have an attorney without the experience needed to assert that person's many rights under the law in that very court of law.
Otherwise, with the strict mandatory legal guidelines applicable in many areas of the law, from the Criminal Punishment Code to the Child Support Guidelines, the phrase which Dante made famous would best advise that person as they prepare to enter the Courtroom, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

According to our own Continental Congress, these rights were declared as our country's first act, not as rights coming from government but rights coming from our Creator. Our laws then are supposed to enforce these rights (not grant them). A good lawyer enables you to do just that: enjoy your rights, live your life, fight for your liberty and have an opportunity to be happy. Many have given much more to enjoy these rights than a mere court battle.
